Road to Resilience
Mount Sinai’s “Road to Resilience” podcast was only a few episodes old when I was hired to host and produce it in early 2019.
Leading a team of four, I revamped the show—booking higher-profile guests, adopting a more conversation style, improving the audio quality, and updating our visuals. Early episodes included a roundtable on child trauma featuring comedian Darrell Hammond, which quickly became our most popular episode yet (currently 50K+ views on YouTube).
Then the pandemic hit, and we went from producing two episodes per month to two per week, racing to separate fact from fiction and provide useful, evidence-based information to a frightened public. Recording from my closet—in true podcast fashion—I interviewed health officials, psychologists, faith leaders, and frontline workers, often churning out episodes in an afternoon. Our efforts were recognized when Apple Podcasts named the show a “COVID-19 Must-Listen.”
I continued to host and produce the show until early 2022, during which time I had the pleasure of interviewing actor Kumail Nanjiani, meditation teacher Sharon Salzberg, psychologist Kristin Neff, PhD, and many others. The podcast has been played more than 400,000 times across 75+ episodes.
