NYU INSIGHTS ON PSYCHIATRY

NYU Langone’s Department of Psychiatry hired me to create a podcast that would enhance their standing as a national leader. Together we launched NYU Insights on Psychiatry, an NPR-quality show hosted by psychologist Thea Gallagher (NYU) and featuring interviews with preeminent psychiatric researchers.

As solo producer on two 12-episode seasons, my work included:

  • Host prep—Distilling complex research, scripting questions to reveal big ideas, and shaping the arc of each interview.

  • Sound engineering—Working with guests to get the best recording possible given their equipment, setting, and tech savvy.

  • Post-Production—Using Pro Tools and audio restoration tools such as Izotope RX to turn raw recordings into radio gold.

The show was listened to thousands of times, ranking among the top 25% of all podcasts by episode downloads—a notable accomplishment for a niche production. A third season is in development.
